New Home Construction Phases

Having finalized the building plans and specifications, the Builder obtains a Building Permit from the local Building Department, lays out the building on the lot, puts in the underground, and digs/sets/pours the foundation.
Unless the house is on a slab floor, the Builder coordinates the schedule, materials, and budget, while the post/girders are hung, the floor is insulated, the subfloor is installed, the walls and roof are framed, the windows are installed, the exterior receives shearwall and masonry, the roof is sheeted and papered, the rough plumbing, electrical, and heating & air are installed, the walls and ceiling are insulated, and the drywall is hung, taped, textured, and painted.
Now, the cabinets, countertops, and tile floors are installed, the plumbing, electrical, and heating & air, appliances, fixtures, mirrors and enclosures, hardware, and floor/wall coverings are installed, the exterior finish is completed, and the roof is installed. Next, the flatwork is poured, the fencing is installed, and the landscaping is underway.
And, finally the dream home is ready for moving day.
